I fell a little further down the rabbit hole of backend systems design today. This project is going to require a surprising amount of server infrastructure, and I’d like to build that out without breaking the bank. I think I’ve put together a plan that will provide the performance, security, reliability, and maintainability that I’m looking for at a reasonable price.

You’ve probably heard the quote “an idiot admires complexity” and I can’t help but think of that when I look at some of the more popular hosting providers’ offerings. I swear AWS makes things 10x more complicated than they need to. Though I guess if they made everything easy to understand, they wouldn’t be able to obfuscate how over priced they are lol.
